My favorite John Wayne movie is McLintock, which is also my Dad's. I guess I was influenced by him in this regard, and that's ok with me!
The beginning of the mud fight is hilarious and where the often mimicked "Pilgrim" comes from.
Many members of my family can quote from this scene and often do. It brings us great pleasure. The Indian is particularly funny when he says, "Nice party!" at the beginning of the mud fight. And then when he says, "Where the whiskey?" And at the end when he says, "Great party! But no whiskey. We go home." We also like the line that John Wayne's character says, "Oh get out of my way," as he picks up someone and throws them into the mud pit!
The theme of the "taming of the shrew" is most hilariously portrayed here in this movie!

Oh I love McClintock, too. As I can't think of others off the bat, I'll go with this one as my favorite, because well, it is at least up there at the top if not the top. And my dad liked this one too!
The Quiet Man and just about everything with Maureen O'Hara
