Thompson Drops Out of Race to the White House

Fred Thompson has dropped his Presidential bid.

This is the first presidential campaign that I have felt so conflicted about who to support. I chose Ron Paul because I agree with him on most issues (the largest disagreement I have is with his position on Iraq). However, having been involved as a voter and supporter who has been a county and state delegate, and election judge, I'm also jaded enough to realize that Ron Paul probably won't make the ticket.

Now I feel like I'm in a quandry, and the choices are ones that I wish DIDN'T have to make.

How are you all feeling about how this Presidential race is shaking out? Who are you supporting and why?

A courageous vote is the only vote worth casting.

Until Ron Paul I only ever voted against the worst of two evils not I can vote for a candidate.

Still backing Ron Paul. Even if he doesn't make the Republican ticket, the fact that he has had so much support makes a statement. If everyone gives up and only votes for those who "they think have a real chance," we sell short those who have worked so hard to get the message across that we need and want someone like him in office. I'm not even opposed to a write-in when it comes to the election. I'd rather write in someone that I truly support than give my vote to "the lesser of two evils." I am accountable for how I vote, and to support someone who I consider to be a fraud doesn't sit right in my heart.

Thanks for keeping us all up to speed on this! Has Thompson made any statements about who he will back?

I was sorry that Thompson didn't do better in SC and I'm sorry that he's now left the race. Although I can't say I was ever really excited about his candidacy (there just seemed to be something missing in the leadership department), I would have most likely voted for him in the primary because of the viable candidates his views were most representative of mine. Now I have to go back to the drawing board. And Super Tuesday is only 2 weeks away!

I'm still supporting Ron Paul in the caucus. And I'd LOVE to support him in an actual presidential race, not just a caucus.

I've even convinced my husband to support Ron Paul!

And my of voting age daughter has been on board with Ron Paul for a while even though it is causing her trouble with some of her friends.

I'm still undecided, waiting and watching...

Truthfully, I'm not real crazy about any of them.
