What Happens when Dad watches Dancing with the Stars

Ok, so last night we were watching "Dancing with the Stars" via tape as the time it was aired was when we were at the library.

Usually it's just S and K and I who watch. But hubby had been at a council meeting for our church which he had to chair as vice-president because the president of our congregation was on a business trip. It was a grumpy meeting about budgets. Recently we changed our constitution at church to have our fiscal year run from January to January which added 5 months to this years' budgets. Budgets are always a mystery to me anyway because how can one predict what expenses we will have in the future? For instance, who knew last year that we would need to update and replace the air conditioning (and believe me that was an expensive project). That wasn't in the budget.

Anyway, after this meeting my hubby came home and was ravenous! He heated up some left-overs in the microwave and joined us as we watched "Dancing with the Stars." He must have been delirious with hunger as otherwise he wouldn't have willing watched that.

Now, as an athlete in the public school system in high schooler, hubby bought into the idea that athletes don't dance well. So hubby's dancing resembles the stiffness and awkwardness of Billy Ray Cyrus. Hubby's idea of dancing is moving a little to the beat and maybe shuffling your feet.

S and K however, love to swing dance and ballroom dance. They do it every chance they get! And they are good at it! Graceful and poised -- they float upon the dance floor.

As we're watching, of course, the comments from the females in the room were about the quality of the dancing. After being tortured for a few dances, hubby pipes up and says (referring to Samantha Harris), "What is she wearing?" He then answers his own query with, "A burrito wrapper?"

We all laughed! He is such a big kid!
