In preparation for going to see Pirates of the Carribean later today, we are watching the previous movies. K likes to watch movies with the caption on. None of the rest of us do. However, K usually gets her way because otherwise there's no living with her! But the typical discussion ensured prior to the movie...
R -- "Mom, tell her to turn the *sound traction* off!"
K -- "I can't watch it without it."
And so it goes, until I, wishing to preserve family peace, relent and let K have her way. All the others being infinitely more tolerant for K's proclivity.
Anyway, having heard this discussion today, it reminded me that I needed to add *sound traction* to the list of our family's special words.
I'm glad Pirates is opening today as K, our family's cultural critic on movies and music, has been sorely disappointed in events of the last week -- namely Apolo winning on Dancing with the Stars instead of her favorite, Joey; Jordin beating out Blake on American Idol; and Charlie who seemingly died on Lost last night.
Someday I'll have to write a post about how Lost preserved our family when we were truly lost.
