80's Music - What Were You Listening To Then?

Kelly's limiting us to the 80's. Darn! That leaves this hit by Queen out of the running.

It also leaves out Elvis, the Bee Gees, Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Steve Miller Band, the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Herman's Hermits, the Doors, Paul Revere and the Raiders, Cream.

AC/DC straddles the 70's and 80's as does Styx, and The Cars and the Alan Parsons Project, the J. Geils Band, Queen.

So 80's contenders could be Journey, Bon Jovi, Loverboy, Stray Cats, Go-Go's, Def Leppard (this new one is a cool remake), Joan Jett, and Kelly might appreciate Air Supply, or maybe your taste ran more towards Lionel Ritchie, Pat Benatar, don't forget Adam and the Ants, Duran Duran, Van Halen, Kenny Loggins, A -Ha, Wham, and so many more! But I could do this all day and never get anything done!

So I suggest Dire Straits because it represents the beginning of the music video and MTV era, which the 80's ushered in. Who knew you could spend so much time staring at the boob tube?

Thanks for this post. Someone brought a 80's mix CD that they had burned to the scrapbook retreat last weekend and we thoroughly enjoyed reminiscing about all the groups that are no longer making music, but we sure enjoyed them. A musical walk down memory lane....

Ok -- so I'm one of those illiterate persons from the public school and didn't read close enough to understand that the blonde bombshell Miss Kelly J wanted us to share our favorite from high school no matter when we attended.

Well DFD for me (didn't follow directions!)

Anyhow, I had fun doing the 80's and that's my story and I'm sticking to it! If I go back and look at more You Tube videos I'll waste more time and I really shouldn't! So, that's my post and my silly beau-willy excuse for doing it wrong!

Nanners!

I was in high school in the 50's...so my choice of music is much different than what is listed here. Give me Elis, big bopper, Chuck Berry, the Platters, Bobby Darin and on and on....brings back wonderful memories.

This is why one of dh and mine's all-time favorite movies is "The Wedding Singer." :-) I love the 80's!
