Ya know how your kids anticipate the Christmas season when they're little? They are so excited and sometimes that excitement leads to goodness abounding.
But after several days of that, and the presents are opened and the doll has lost her clothes already then a certain attitude starts to creep in. You think you recognize signs of it in the quick tempers and sarsactic words and glances, and then the "I've been too good for too long" monster rears its ugly head and lets out a roar.
Which of course is met with a roar back from a parent whose been waaaaaaaay too liberal the last several days in hopes of keeping peace and not raising a ruckus during this "most wonderful time of the year."
Roars fade away quickly and life returns to normal. It's like a reset button and now all is at peace again . . . (until the next anticipatory season approaches next year.)
